Amara Singapore opens rooftop futsal pitch

Located on the rooftop, Amara has just launched Southeast Asia’s first such facility, which is located right at the heart of the financial district

Businessmen working in the Central Business District (CBD) will now be able to get their frequent dose of football action after Amara Singapore Hotel opened a futsal pitch on its premises on Thursday evening.

Considered to be Southeast Asia’s first hotel futsal pitch, it is managed by Stadio, a company owned by former LionsXII coach and Singapore international V. Sundramoorthy and current Balestier Khalsa head coach Marko Kraljevic.

The idea was first suggested to Sundram during a discussion with the hotel’s EAM Operations Steven Chia, who is an avid football fan and a strong supporter of local football.

“We initiated the discussion with Mr Sundramoorthy on having the first hotel futsal pitch, which will be of a good standard for even National teams to exercise and train in,” Chia said.

Considering the pitch is located in the CBD, Amara hotel general manager Ng Khee Siong is also optimistic that the futsal pitch will be a hit with the corporate executives.

“We are excited over this new development as Amara Singapore is located in a strategic location, and this facility is equipped to fulfill the demand of executives working in the precinct who are avid soccer fans and players,” Ng said.

“Once the momentum is built with a strong core group of corporate players, we will roll out tournaments amongst the corporate teams who will compete, build strong teamwork along the way and strengthen their love for the sport.”
