Guam – A delegation from the Guam Economic Development Authority intends to make noise at the 2014 Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific in Singapore this month.
The Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific starts today, March 18, 2014 at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore.
The conference will include hotel investment market updates, and of course presentations from industry experts.
“New concepts, innovative ideas, and changes in the Asia hotel industry will be some of the key topics in this HICAP update, “said GEDA Deputy Administrator, Mana Silva Taijeron.
“Our participation in this event will allow us to gain some new perspectives from investors and key players, as we look to aggressively market Guam’s hotel industry to investors.”
“This will also be our prime chance to network with developers and hoteliers- and we will take every opportunity to direct their attention toward Guam,” Silva Taijeron said.
“This conference could not come at a better time, with GEDA diligently working toward achieving the Calvo administration’s goal of adding an additional 1,600 hotel rooms by the year 2020,” said Business Development Manager Tina Garcia.
“Guam’s tourism industry has grown to over 1.3 million visitors annually, and those numbers are expected to grow exponentially in the coming years. Because of this, it has become a priority to add new hotel rooms, with a focus on resort type facilities.”
During the HICAP held in October of 2013, the Guam delegation made major headway, having met with numerous developers, to include the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Samsung Development Group, Regent Hotel Group, Six Senses Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Hotel Group, Berjaya Hotels Resorts and Yoo Hotels. Dialogue continues with each of those groups, and the goal is to add more names to the list of interested investors.
