Air and hotel news: From Bristol to Brisbane in one booking thanks to airline ...

Travel from Bristol to Brisbane on one booking thanks to a tie-up between an airline and two train companies.

A trip such as this would previously have needed three separate bookings.

But

now globetrotting holidaymakers from 11 towns and cities in the South West of England and South Wales – including Bath, Bristol and Cardiff – can arrange their international flights and train journeys in one go thanks to Singapore Airlines, Heathrow Express and First Great Western.

Passengers

will travel by First Great Western to London’s Paddington station, pick

up the Heathrow Express to the airport, and board a flight to Singapore

and beyond.

The firms reckon the ticketing partnership will save time and money, with an economy SaverExpress fare from Bristol to Brisbane slashing £140 or 13% off the normal price.

A

spokesman for the firms said: ‘’We are simplifying long-haul travel by enabling customers to book trains and flights in one transaction.’’
