Today Chinese phone-maker Xiaomi set a date for its much-anticipated Singapore launch: February 21.
Xiaomi’s Singapore homepage, which came online earlier this week, has just updated to reveal not only the date but also the price for Xiaomi’s budget Android phone, the Redmi. The 4.7-inch screen Redmi will sell for S$169 (US$133), which is just a few dollars more than the WCDMA model sells for in mainland China.
Xiaomi, which sold 18.7 million phones in 2013, is already operating in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, but Singapore is its first venture into less familiar territory.
Check out our review of the Redmi phone.
