SINGAPORE – Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 34 event drew an announced attendance of 5,216 for the promotion’s first event in Singapore.
UFC executive Marc Fischer announced the figures at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.
Fischer said the total made the event a sellout.
UFC Fight Night 34 took place at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. It was the first event to stream on the UFC’s new Fight Pass digital network.
In the main event, welterweights Tarec Saffiedine (15-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Hyun Gyu Lim (12-4-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) battled for five rounds before Saffiedine took a unanimous decision. The former Strikeforce champion battered Lim with leg kicks, but the underdog refused to go down for good.
A gate total was not announced for the card.
