After two successful outings here, Singapore’s first hotel art fair Art Apart is going international. The fair will debut in London in October and plans are afoot to hold an inaugural edition in New York next year.
There will also be two editions of Art Apart in Singapore this year. The first opens at Parkroyal On Pickering, the hotel on Pickering Street, next week and the second at the same venue in July.
Art Apart organiser Rosalind Lim, 63, says she set up the fairs abroad to give Singapore galleries and artists more opportunities to showcase their art.
At the three-day fair at Parkroyal on Pickering from Jan 17 to 19, some 1,500 artists from 33 galleries around the world will be exhibiting works in the Chinatown hotel’s rooms.
