Hours before legendary British rockers The Rolling Stones got the party started on Saturday night at Marina Bay Sands’ Grand Ballroom, local rock bands pumped up a waiting crowd with their rousing covers of rock anthems.
Starting at 4pm, the four-hour-long free concert at the Event Plaza featured five bands – A-List with Douglas O., John Molina Krueger, ZulTania, Heritage and Jive Talkin’. Each of them played about 45 minutes.
The free concert was part of the integrated resort’s open-to-the-public music festival, Marina Bay Sands Rock Singapore.
Even some Rolling Stones fans who had tickets to the concert inside MBS came for some entertainment beforehand.
